Poutama pānui – Hune – June 20252025-06-24T10:18:23+12:00

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Pānui o Poutama – your monthly hit of inspo, insight, and Māori business magic!

Tākina Puanga,

Ko Puanga kei runga,

Ko Puanga e Rangi

Tākinga mai te ara o Puanganui-o-te-rangi

Tākinga ngā pou o te tau

Ki te whai ao, ki te ao mārama

As Puanga rises

Let Puanga elevate us

Let Puanga be noted in the heavens

Let us recite the great celestial path of Puanga

Let us recite the ceremonies throughout the year

With clarity and intention

Matariki is a time for remembering and honouring those who have passed since the last rising of the stars Matariki and Puanga, for acknowledging our past, celebrating the present and looking forward to a bright and prosperous future.  This year Matariki was celebrated with the theme of Matariki mā Puanga –  inclusion, embracing diversity and celebrating Matariki together.

We’ve recently welcomed a new addition to the Poutama whānau – Congratulations to our CEO Koro and Harry on the arrival of their pēpi – Huia tū Rae – nau mai, haere mai ki te ao!  Koro is currently on parental leave and will rejoin the team next month.

As the colder months settle in, the energy across the world of pakihi Māori remains strong.  It’s been another action-packed season with Māori businesses continuing to innovate, grow, and lead.  In this pānui, we’re proud to spotlight a few of these inspiring ventures.

We hope you enjoy the read.  Got thoughts, ideas, or just wanna say kia ora?  We’d love to hear from you!
