Poutama pānui – Noema – November 20242024-11-07T09:10:19+13:00

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Pānui o Poutama – Welcome to the Poutama newsletter.

The start of November is a reminder that we’ve nearly made it through this year.  Take a moment to acknowledge your own efforts and that of staff so far.

Recently, we attended the Economic Development NZ Conference, in Ōtepoti where we participated in a panel and discussed using tech to empower creative rangatahi and tamariki.

We celebrated Māori enterprise and achievement at two Business Award events.  At the Aotearoa Māori Business Leaders Awards wāhine Māori claimed five of the six prestigious awards, cementing their role as key drivers of success in the Māori economy.  For example, Poutama supported Torere Macadamias founder and chief executive, Vanessa Hayes was recognised with the Entrepreneurial Māori Business Leader Award.

We also supported the annual MWDI Māori Businesswomen’s Awards.  An opportunity to honour Wāhine Toa business excellence.  Poutama supported pakihi – Puku Ora won the Supreme Overall Award.  This accolade celebrates exceptional achievement, innovation, and leadership within te ao pakihi Māori.  Mauri ora!

In this pānui you can read more about:

  • NKK Services Limited – CrossFit Kotahi gym owned by Kurt & Nicole Kara
  • Atawhai Creative – content creation company owned by Natalie Hilterman

Kei te whiti mai te rā! – The sun is shining!

Mauri ora ki a tātou katoa.
