Poutama pānui – Māehe – March 20252025-03-04T10:28:20+13:00

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Pānui o Poutama – Welcome to the Poutama newsletter.

The summer vibes of Raumati continue to shine across the motu, and it’s been another action-packed month for the Poutama whānau!

During the last month, more oral submissions on the proposed Treaty Principles Bill have been heard.  This essential and sobering effort is crucial, especially given the current political activity and sentiment aimed at marginalising us as Māori.

Then last week we celebrated and soaked up the wairua at Te Matatini o Kāhui Maunga at Pukerua Park in Ngāmotu.  It was a beautiful reminder of the excellence in our performing arts and the incredible community and whānau engagement that happens across the motu and at the event itself.

Dozens of Pakihi Māori that we’ve actively supported had a presence with shop stalls at the host-venue ‘Marketplace’.  We also collaborated with Te Matatini supporting pakihi to participate in the two offsite Fan Zones in Tāmaki and Pōneke.  The next generation of kaihaka are inspired.  We’re already looking forward to 2027!

In this pānui, we’ve got some awesome highlights for you, including:

  • Taikura Consulting – a Māori public health service consulting on Indigenous Health
  • Summberbrons.tan – NZ self tanning brand providing high quality tanning products
  • Wānanga, events & webinars to help your business succeed

Keep an eye out for upcoming events, workshops, and opportunities to connect with us, our partners, and other pakihi across Aotearoa.

As always we value and welcome your feedback and hope you enjoy the pānui!
