Poutama is proud to support to Silvicom – a silviculture business operating in the forestry industry and based in Te Tai Tokerau.
Owned and operated by Keita and Will Edmonds, the business provides its services from Kaitaia to Silverdale.
Will worked within the industry for a number of years before gaining enough experience to start his own business. Silvicom are committed to lifting the industry standards for silviculture employees and raising the quality of service for landowners and forest managers. Silvicom are a hard working, enthusiastic, quality driven silviculture business.
Keita and Will are very proud Māori business owners, encouraging manaaki and aroha within the workplace. Between them, they’ve over 25-years of knowledge and experience in the industry.
All employees of Silvicom are NZQA certified to carry out all work associated with these services.
Silvicom’s specialist services include Planting, Manual Fertilising, Regen pulling, Thinning to waste, Release Spraying, Variable Pruning and Scrub Cutting.
In May 2021, Silvicom received PGF funding to support the purchase of a vehicle to safely and efficiently transport staff between home and worksites. Around ten new jobs have been created from this investment.
