The Te Taumata-led Hui, hosted by Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Nanaia Mahuta will be held at Parliament next week.
It is anticipated to be the largest hui ever held in Aotearoa on Global Trade and the interests of Māori exporters and whānau.
The hui will bring together leaders of Government, heads of key ministries, international ambassadors, and Māori business leaders to discuss the complex issues confronting the world, and the new opportunities arising in global trade.
Currently, about 40% of the value of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) is lost through poor implementation. We, as Māori, want to be able to capitalise on all the opportunities presented through these agreements, including the most recently signed FTAs with the United Kingdom and European Union.
From this hui, Te Taumata is striving for a collective agreement on an implementation plan to realise the new opportunities arising from these FTAs.
There is still time to register for the Hui which is free. More information and to register can be completed by clicking here.
