Poutama is supporting The Ka Hao I te Ao programme – an e-commerce training programme offered to Māori business owners.

Poutama is offerring a $10k grant to the business that excels in the programme.  This funding is to be used to purchase products/services that will help take the business to another level.

Last year, several Māori Entrepreneurs participated, including Benita Tahuri (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairoa) owner of Free to Fly.  Benita provides cultural development, leadership and well-being courses.  Through Ka Hao’s e-commerce training, Justine was able to grow the business’s digital presence.  She was acknowledged an E-Commerce Award for generating 5-figure revenue through her e-commerce store.

More inspirational business stories from previous cohort members can be watched on the Ka Hao YouTube channel here.  A new cohort of Māori entrepreneurs is set to begin mid-year 2022.
