Last week, Poutama was proud to tautoko the Kāhui Collective, a rōpū of Māori designers who brought culture, creativity, and innovation to the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week 2025.
The lineup featured six Māori and indigenous designers whose mahi beautifully wove whakapapa into contemporary fashion:
- Mitchell Vincent (Mitchell Vincent Collection)
- Nichola Te Kiri (NTKMADE LTD) & (KaistorSt)
- Jacob Tamehana Coutie (J’AKE)
- Temesia Tuicaumia (TEMESIA.CO)
- Katherine Anne (Katherine Anne)
Brought together by founder of Kāhui, Kiri Nathan, their collective mahi spoke of cultural storytelling stitched into every piece, weaving identity, kōrero, and pride into every design.
At Poutama, backing Kāhui Collective aligns with our kaupapa to support pakihi Māori to stand tall, be visible, and thrive. The energy, vision, and wairua these designers carried was a powerful reminder of the future we’re building together.
The collective stood strong, and we couldn’t be prouder to walk alongside them.
