Arataki Systems Partners with TWOA To Deliver – KANORAU DIGITAL

Māori Tech company to support the delivery of basic digital skills programme at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa campuses around the country.

Arataki Systems, a Māori technology start-up specialising in building digital storytelling platforms, announced that they have partnered with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa to help deliver Kanorau Digital, a digital literacy skills and capability training programme.  Primarily aimed at Māori and Pasifika communities, Kanorau Digital is open to participants who are 18+ and are looking to improve their basic digital literacy skills.

The programme aims to provide the core foundation of digital skills and knowledge that will enable whānau to participate in a digitally enabled world and close the digital divide.  This is an amazing opportunity for our Māori and Pasifika whanau who wish to learn basic digital skills for at-home use and to up-skill in a forever evolving digital world.

Of the company’s partnership with TWOA, Arataki Systems CEO Lee Timutimu said, “Arataki Systems are incredibly proud to assist our partner Te Wānanga o Aotearoa with the delivery of this important kaupapa.  We are privileged to be a part of Kanorau Digital, an empowering kaupapa that we believe will help our people to safely navigate into the digital age.”

KANO MEANS SEED.  RAU IS MANY.  Kanorau means to be diverse, varied, multicoloured.  Kanorau Digital will help plant the seeds for participants to gain the confidence to use digital devices and the internet as a tool to connect with our diverse world.

The Kanorau Digital literacy skills and capability training programme began 16th November.  Arataki will be delivering the programme into the following five locations:

  • Whangārei
  • Auckland (Henderson)
  • Tauranga
  • Whakatāne
  • Porirua
