MBIE want to hear from you!
The Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment (MBIE) has recently released a discussion document on land agreements and how they create barriers to entry or otherwise reduce competition – it does not include Māori interests in land and taonga.
However, MBIE want to hear from Māori businesses and leaders on barriers faced, from land covenants, such as limiting the options available for sites and so making it more difficult to enter a market or grow your business.
MBIE would like to hear from you, whether you are in retail or non-retail businesses, rural or urban settings by 25 August 2023.
MBIE also welcomes responses from Māori consumers, property developers and legal practitioners. The discussion document and one page summary can be found here.
