Nicole & Mark Anderson – Ngāpuhi
In 2016, Nicole and Mark Anderson returned to the north after a few years in Kirikiriroa and purchased Bridgestone Kaikohe. A small whānau business based out of Kaikohe (Te Tai Tokerau) established originally in 1964.
Starting with three staff and now with eight full timers, the business has grown both the fleet and passenger business areas, including expanding into Waipapa with a new fleet base.
Taking students from Northland College for work experience and as permanent part time staff, Mark enjoys giving tai-tamariki opportunities to experience work within a well-functioning team and a safe working environment.
They recently purchased a warehouse and now have one of the best fleet stock holdings in the north.
Poutama recently supported the business with the upgrade to equipment. In turn this provides the business with the opportunity to improve productivity, growth and health and safety for the team. This is because commercial tyre work is very physically demanding and purchasing appropriate equipment will reduce staff fatigue and keep them much safer on the job.
