Te Whare Hukahuka & Poutama Trust Are Proud To Join Forces
Poutama is supporting The Ka Hao i te Ao Programme – an e-commerce training programme offered to Māori business owners.
Poutama will offer a $10k grant to the business that tops the programme. This funding is to be used to purchase products and/or services that will help take the business to another level.
In 2021 several Māori Entrepreneurs participated, including Cherrilee Fuller owner of Taiao Creative Limited. Through Ka Hao’s ecommerce training, she was able to officially launch the business during COVID-19 lockdowns. The business creates taonga and jewellery to wear and for art around the home. Through implementing what was learnt through the course, Cherrilee was beginning to sell out of her products every five days! By the end of the programme, her ecommerce venture was evolving into a five-figure business.
A new cohort of Māori entrepreneurs is set to begin mid-year 2022.
