The MWDI Māori Businesswomen’s Awards, hosted annually by Māori Women’s Development Inc. (MWDI), recognise the resilience, creativity, and dedication of wāhine Māori in business.

These awards highlight the remarkable contributions of wāhine Māori entrepreneurs and professionals across diverse sectors throughout Aotearoa, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond.

The awards align with the mission of MWDI which seeks to drive economic development for wāhine and their whānau, ensuring Māori contribute equitably to cultural, spiritual, economic, social, and political achievements.

MWDI is a unique indigenous organisation which champions wāhine Māori in business.  Poutama is proud to partner with MWDI and happy to sponsor the Te Pōiketanga (Emerging Business) Award.  Congratulations to Amy Barratt & Dayna Slade from BO & KO Baby, who took out this years honours of the Te Pōiketanga award.

A special mihi to Poutama clients, Erana Ngakuru & Amy Wray from Puku Ora, for winning the Pakihi Whai Ora (Social Enterprise) Award, as well as winning the prestigious MWDI Māori Businesswomen 2024 Overall Supreme Award.

Well done and congratulations to all those involved on the night.  Poutama is proud to be a supporter of many of the wāhine pakihi Māori that were finalists and winners.  For all the details of the awards and winners click here.
