Nicole Horan, CEO and producer of Hi Mama Productions, has been named the Te Tohu Aorangi Overall Supreme Winner at the MWDI Māori Businesswomen’s Awards 2025.

This highly coveted accolade celebrates outstanding achievements, innovation, and leadership within te ao pakihi Māori.

Hi Mama Productions, a trailblazing Māori-owned film and television company, was honoured for its commitment to Māori values, innovation, and excellence in storytelling.  Founded by Horan, the company continues to lead in indigenous media production across Aotearoa.

Hosted by Māori Women’s Development Inc (MWDI), the awards celebrate the resilience and achievements of wāhine Māori entrepreneurs and professionals.  MWDI Kaiwhakahaere Linda Clay praised the strength and creativity of nominees, noting their impact on both local and global economic stages.

Judges, Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust COO Awerangi Tamihere, Poutama Trust CEO Koroninia Dickinson and MWDI Kaiwhakahaere Linda Clay were impressed with the high calibre of nominations befitting to all regions and categories.

The awards ceremony took place at Tākina Convention Centre, Wellington on Friday, 24 October 2025.
