Last week, Poutama attended and sponsored Te Hekenga – National Māori Business Networks Conference 2024 in Tauranga Moana.
Special mihi to Manataiao Events in conjunction with the Tauranga Māori Business Association for the outstanding efforts in bringing Te Hekenga back after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
It was an awesome opportunity to wānanga with other Māori entities and partners in the Māori enterprise eco-system. Sharing knowledge, advice and inspirational stories of pakihi excellence. There was an emphasis on the continued need for greater Māori collectivism (with the eco system) to support pakihi to thrive. We all agreed that when our pakihi are thriving, our whānau and hapori thrive too.
The mauri of Te Hekenga has been passed to Te Awe Wellington Māori Business Network to carry on the legacy.
