Congratulations to Poutama client, Dave Hare and his team from Treemachine Services who won national acclaim at the 2023 Primary Industries Good Employer Awards.  The awards, announced at the Beehive last month, shine a light on leading employers that put their team at the heart of their business.

Treemachine Services won multiple awards winning the Māori Agribusiness Award, were joint winners of the Small Business Recognition Award, and then took out the overall Supreme Award.  Ka mau te wehi i te whānau!

“We were excited just to be nominated for the awards and enjoyed travelling down to Wellington.  It was great to win the Small Business and Māori Agribusiness awards, but to come away with the Supreme – well we were just blown away!”, says Dave.

Dave was grateful to celebrate these achievements alongside his wife Cathy, daughter Astyn and some of their team.

A whānau business based in Taranaki, their main value is whakawhanaungatanga and focused on building strong relationships.  “This is at the core of what we do and the key to our success”, he said.

They have promoted this value in their staff, their arboriculture department, their environmental department, and it extended to the training course, the NorthTech Te Pūkenga forestry course that Treemachine delivered.

Dave set up the company with his wife Cathy in January 2013 and has been involved in the forestry industry for over 35 years.  They focus on work quality, safety and effective work practices and a positive approach to customer care; all while ensuring their specialised operations crew, staff and whānau achieve and be the best they can be.
